Entrepreneurial Innovations in Construction Materials are a Win-Win for Pool Builders

As a growing number of homeowners are demanding more environmentally responsible options when building and renovating their homes, we were excited to learn about some of the budding innovations in the construction industry, specifically, what some companies like CarbonCure,  funded by Bill Gates, and others are doing to reduce cement’s carbon footprint.

Did you know that concrete is the world’s second-most consumed resource? Turns out making the cement needed to give concrete its strength currently produces 7-8% of our greenhouse gases! Some estimate these revolutionary technologies could reduce the overall carbon emissions by 24%.

While nearly all of the concrete developed and consumed is for the construction of buildings, the way homeowners perceive its impact on the environment is important for everyone in the industry, including pool builders. Not only are these technological advances promising to drastically reduce cement’s carbon emissions, they are also promising to transform the industry by making concrete cheaper!

We are very encouraged by how these prospects will impact homeowners and pool builders, alike, and wanted to share some of the articles we’ve recently read.  If it helps the environment and the pool industry sell more pools, that's a win-win!
